We believe

Education and economic power is the agency to transform your life. So, we focus on…

  • touching hearts so we can

  • shift mindsets, and

  • transform behaviors in order to connect people from marginalized communities to educational and economic opportunities that advance their livelihood.

Despite the movement in 2020 by companies pledging their commitment to DEI, unfortunately, more than 75% of companies still have no Diversity or Inclusion goals (SHRM, 2021).

Our Core Values

ABOUT THE FOUNDER & CEO

Karen (Dr.K) Baptiste is a West Indian-American from the Bronx. She is deeply passionate about education reform, juvenile justice reform, leadership development, and female empowerment. In 2023, Dr. K was tapped to be a recurring guest on News Nation as an education commentator.

Dr. K served on the Education Legislative Committee where she advocated to Congress, proposed, and developed national educational policy points and initiatives. Besides her advocacy, she’s an actress, film director, and producer with the goal of sharing the untold stories of people from marginalized communities through film.

“Our team has been extraordinarily empowered and energized as a result of our professional learning experience with Dr. K. She has led us in a discovery process that was sometimes uncomfortable, but necessary to the development of fair and equitable programming designed to support each scholar with accessing our curriculum content. The development and execution of our district’s equity audit was collaborative, reflective, and dynamic and resulted in the curation of clear criteria for equity expectations in our standards-based curriculum plan documents and accompanying resources.  This learning journey led to the discovery of biases and inequities in our curriculum that will, now, be remedied in the best interest of each scholar we serve.  We now have a system to ensure that, moving forward, we engage in conscious, equitable practices when engaging in curriculum-based decision making.”

In the fall of 2017, Dr. Baptiste’s article on Courageous Conversations was featured in The 74.  In it, she reflects on the power of having courageous conversations about race at the school level; conversations that get teachers and school staff out of their comfort zones and into a safe space of addressing their own biases.
